How Does The Change in Your Life Look to Others?

The story of Zacchaeus is found in Luke 19:1-10.  I started to say that he is, “randomly mentioned in the Bible one time.” Then I remembered that there is nothing random about God’s Word. 

Luke 19:2, says that Zacchaeus was “the chief among the publicans, and he was rich.”  That pretty much tells me that he may have been the “tax collector of tax collectors.” I would think to get where he was he probably had to burn a lot of bridges.

As I read this passage and saw that his encounter with Jesus changed his life (and the lives of those around him,) I have to wonder, “Did Zacchaeus somehow hear about the difference that Jesus had made in the life of Matthew, who had  also been a tax collector, and this caused him to want to know more?”

Just something that I was thinking about.

How has the change that Jesus has made in our lives made a difference in someone else’s life?

“1 And Jesus entered and passed through Jericho. 2 And, behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich. 3 And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature. 4 And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way. 5 And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house. 6 And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully. 7 And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner. 8 And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord: Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold. 9 And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham. 10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.”  Luke 1 9:1-10 (KJV)

I feel that since God has given me the gift of this platform, I must always tell you about my Jesus.  

What is your relationship to the all-knowing God of the universe?  Do you know Jesus? Do you know the peace that can come only from an intimate relationship with Him?  You can know Him.  Jesus Christ, God’s Son, born into human flesh, sinless, crucified and giving His life freely, buried, arisen on the third day, will come into your life and change the outcome of your eternity.  You just have to be willing to believe and accept His truth.
