Viewing God Through Faith

Have you ever wanted, but for what ever reason were not allowed or not able, to belong to a club or an organization or just a group? It does not feel good to be left out, especially if it is something really good. The family of God…now that is good!  There were many generations that were not included in the family of God’s chosen people. There was not a path for those outside the nation of Israel to attain the righteousness of God. Ah, but then came Jesus and then came righteousness through faith!

In Romans 9:27-31 we see part of the letter that the Apostle Paul wrote to the church in Corinth.  Paul tells them about how Isaiah prophesied there would be a remnant of the Jewish nation that would be saved but that God would finish what He had started—the promise would be fulfilled—and how blessed they were that God had left them the Seed of Promise through everything they had endured.

As Gentiles, not of God’s chosen Jewish nation, we did not know that we were missing righteousness and therefore did not seek to get it. While God’s people were so busy trying to live up to the Law, they could not grasp faith.  But God did not leave us (the rest of the world)  out of His plan.  He allowed us to come into righteousness by faith, while His chosen people missed out on faith because of legalism to the Law.

I feel amazingly blessed that God made me right with Him and allows me righteousness through faith, faith in Jesus Christ.  The challenge each day is to live by faith so that my faith will be cemented in Christ.

How can I apply this passage of scripture to my life?  I need to dwell on God’s Word and apply it to every aspect of my life.  I need to allow God’s presence in my life to lead someone toward Him and the  righteousness He has to offer. I am also to pray daily for God’s people, Israel, to truly see Him and come to Christ.

My faith in Christ is strengthened in that I do not have to strive to attain legalistic standards that are impossible to follow. I don’t have to do or be or have or “complete human made requirements” to be right with God.  I just have to have faith that God is with me.  I have the confidence that through faith He has made me whole and I just need to follow Him every day.

Lord, Thank You for seeing me and knowing I would need Your  righteousness in my life.  Thank You for making your righteousness available to me through Your Son, Jesus.  Help me to seek it and embrace it and live it out each day.  Help me to honor You with my faith. Allow me to view You through the lense of faith.

27 Isaiah also cries out concerning Israel; “Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, The remnant will be saved.
28 For He will finish the work and cut it short in righteousness,
Because the Lord will make a short work upon the earth.” 29 And as Isaiah said before: “Unless the Lord of[b]Sabaoth had left us a seed, We would have become like Sodom, And we would have been made like Gomorrah.” 30 What shall we say then? That Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness of faith; 31 but Israel, pursuing the law of righteousness, has not attained to the law of righteousness.
” Romans 9:27-31 (NKJV)

I was found by those who did not seek Me; I was made manifest to those who did not ask for Me.”  Romans 10:20 (KJV)

I was sought by those who did not ask for Me; I was found by those whodid not seek Me. I said, ‘Here I am, here I am,’ To a nation that was not called by My name. 2  I have stretched out My hands all day long to a rebellious people, Who walk in a way that isnot good, According to their own thoughts;”  Isaiah 65:1,2 (KJV)

But Israel, pursuing the law of righteousness, has not attained to the law of righteousness.”  Romans 9:31 (KJV)

He who follows righteousness and mercy, Finds life, righteousness, and honor.”  Proverbs 21:21 (KJV)

And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel to Abraham beforehand, saying, ‘In you all the nations shall be blessed.’” Galatians 3:8 (KJV)

What is your relationship to the all-knowing God of the universe who will accept you through faith in Jesus Christ?  Do you know Jesus? Do you know the peace that can come only from an intimate relationship with Him?  You can know Him.  Jesus Christ, God’s Son, born into human flesh, sinless, crucified and giving His life freely, buried, arisen on the third day, will come into your life and change the outcome of your eternity.  You just have to be willing to believe and accept His truth.
