Envision God’s Faithfulness

Where do you turn when you are facing struggles? Where do you find calm and peace? The past three years have been challenging.  The past few months have been a struggle. The past few weeks, well, they have just been hard—emotionally hard. What I carry in my heart to get through is the fact that God has been faithful in the past and God will continue to be faithful in the future.

When you turn to God’s Word, as far back as Exodus, chapter fifteen, you will find His faithfulness. In this passage Moses and the children of Israel are acknowledging God as the strength of their life and as their song.  God had just massively delivered them, from the struggle of hundreds of years in Egyptian captivity.  They watched as God destroyed their task masters right before their very eyes and set them on the path toward their Promised Land.

Oh the faithfulness of God!

My beautiful momma has struggled physically for some time and has been bedridden for months now.  I do get the blessing of being able to stay by her side every day though.   It is emotionally exhausting to watch someone that you love fade away little by little, to watch them go away from you bit by bit.  The emotional ups and downs of the past few weeks have been draining.

Ah, but through the trials I do have hope.

My hope is in the Lord.  He is all to me: my strength, my song, my salvation—my God.  He is the God of my momma.  She has prepared a place within her heart to honor and worship Him.  That gives me hope that at the end of her earthly struggles she will face a beautiful heavenly future in her promised land.

My challenge right now is to continually be preparing my heart and my life by making sure my heart and life are open to God’s plan and His presence residing in me.   He will strengthen me when I need to be strengthened and hold me when I need to be held.

My Source is my faithful God. If you need a place to turn when you are facing struggles, I can tell you, from experience, that God was faithful then and God continues to be faithful today and forever.

Lord, even in times of doubt and distress, help me to always carry in my heart and rely on Your faithfulness!
