You may or may not have noticed, but in the past few days we have been walking down the Romans Road through the scripture passages I have been sharing. This is a group of verses that can help you give an overview of God’s grace and the salvation that He offers all humans. These are good verses to store away in your memory bank. They can be used to talk to someone about new life in Christ.
Today, I just wanted to do a recap of those very important verses.
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” Romans 3:23 (KJV)
We have all taken our eyes off the mark that God has set from time to time. The apostle Paul talks about missing the mark that God has set for all mankind. He explained that all people have sinned. All have missed the mark that allows us to have fellowship with a glorious, holy God. He made a way, through Christ’s sacrifice on the cross, for all of mankind’s sin to be redeemed, wiped out, paid in full. All they have to do is accept this free gift that He is offering and follow Christ.
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23 (KJV)
We should not let the consequences of sin slip out of our view, because it’s so important to know what the consequences are. Paul spelled it out simply that the wages they were gaining from sin would only lead them to death. Ah, but the amazing gift they had received from God is the opposite of death. It is eternal life. This eternal life came from Jesus Christ, their Lord!
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 (KJV)
The Word of God shines the light on the remedy of sin. God, before we even knew Him, while we were still lost in the disease of sin, proved that He loved us all the way to eternity. Paul told the Roman believers that God, who had such love for mankind—even before they knew Him or realized that they were sinners—gave Christ to die for them as the remedy for sin.
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” Romans 10:9 (KJV)
What does our response to Christ look like? Paul told the church in Rome that the response to receive salvation was simple, not complicated. It was a matter of having faith in Christ Jesus, by confessing Him as their Lord and believing in His resurrection. He told them how to accept a relationship with Christ Jesus. They needed to confess the Lord Jesus with their mouths and believe in their hearts that God raised Him from the dead.
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:13 (KJV)
We can truly feel the assurance of our salvation as we look toward God and the gift that he has given us. In this world that we live there are few things in which we can have complete assurance. Paul tells of the ultimate assurance for all mankind through faith in Christ Jesus. He reminded them that God’s salvation was for everyone who would sincerely call on the name of the Lord.
“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:” Romans 5:1 (KJV)
We do need to look for the peace that God gives. Paul assured the believers in Rome that through the faith that they had in Christ Jesus, they were justified, and they had peace with God. Paul told them that as they put their faith in Christ, God also gave them access to the grace that covered them as they rejoiced in the hope and glory of God.
“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” Romans 8:1
What does it look like to live in the Spirit? Paul taught these believers that God had given them the Spirit of Christ, bringing new life and daily guidance. Sin and death no longer held authority over them. As they walked by the Spirit’s power, they were freed from being led by sin.
I hope you will go over these verses, make your own notes over them and possibly share them with someone.
Lord, thank you for your Word. You give us everything we need while we are on this journey here on this earth. I’m so thankful that I belong to You and that You have my eternity covered. It has been fun taking a walk down that Romans Road.

“15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” John 3:15-17
