Sadness and joy are not that far apart. Today started with a heavy heart and sadness. By the time friends and family came through and loved on my brothers and I, it turned into a bittersweet joy. It came in seeing how my momma’s life affected so many. It was not a joy I would have requested, but it was comforting to feel it wrap around me.
Sadness and joy are kind of like darkness and light in that one you don’t want to be in and the other you do. The good thing about light is that it can drive out darkness. Darkness can never drive out light.
Love is the light that drives out the darkness in our lives. Jesus is the Light that drives out the darkness of sin that has so much of the world in darkness.
Choose the Light. You won’t miss the darkness a bit!

“The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.” – Isaiah 9:2

What is your relationship to the all-knowing God of the universe, the One who can bring joy through sorrow, who can bring light through the darkness? Do you know Jesus? Do you know the peace that can come only from an intimate relationship with Him? You can know Him. Jesus Christ, God’s Son, born into human flesh, sinless, crucified and giving His life freely, buried, arisen on the third day, will come into your life and change the outcome of your eternity. You just have to be willing to believe and accept His truth.
