Just something to think about. Mom and I were studying studying Mark 14:17-19 this morning. The notes from the Life Application Study Bible were right on. There are so many that profess to be a true follower of Jesus Christ, but their daily walk does not match their profession. How many times do we (myself Included) sit in worship looking all holy and just with our little Christian face makeup on while within our hearts we are deliberately carrying strife, envy, bitterness or hatred? That, my friend, is “cold-blooded hypocrisy.”
“Judas, the very man who would betray Jesus, was at the table with the others. Judas had already determined to betray Jesus, but in cold-blooded hypocrisy he shared the fellowship of this meal. It is easy to become enraged or shocked by what Judas did; yet professing commitment to Christ and then denying him with one’s life is also betraying him.” (Study notes from the Tyndale Life Application Study Bible)
“In the evening He came with the twelve. Now as they sat and ate, Jesus said, “Assuredly, I say to you, one of you who eats with Me will betray Me.”And they began to be sorrowful, and to say to Him one by one, “Is it I?” And another said, “Is it I?””
